Anthony and Cleopatra – the love story that has remained a part of the history of today's western world for 2000 years. This lecture weaves together a tapestry, connecting significantly famous people and historic events throughout a period of 3000 years. Here, Cleopatra is the main thread in a story of Love, War, Romance and Ancient Mysteries of epic proportions. Cleopatra's DNA history gene traces her genealogy through a dynasty of Ptomemys and Cleopatras (her father was Ptolemy XII, the king of Egypt and she herself became Cleopatra VII) with a direct tie in to Alexander the Great and Thoth Moses III, who was the first Alchemist of the western world. Thoth Moses III learnt the secrets of Alchemy from the Bakare wisdom when he brought the treasures of Megiddo to Egypt. Ptolemy I, general to Alexander the Great, at Alexander's behest, built the Great Library of Alexandria in which the Emerald Tablet of Thoth Hermes Trismegistus was placed. Ptolemy, this Greek/Egyptian Spiritual Adept and his descendents, brought together all the spiritual treasures they could find and placed them in the Great Library so that scholars from all over the world, for example from India and from England, could read, learn and study the ancient texts which held the philosophy and the secret of Enlightenment. Also, in the surrounding area was the Temple of Serapis, which housed Alchemical Wisdom, Knowledge and Teachers leading to further opportunities for study. Cleopatra's legacy and heritage were the spiritual truths and wisdom that her forefathers had kept together, which in truth were the spiritual treasures of Egypt. She was, therefore, politically experienced and spiritually knowledgeable when she was thrust at the age of 17, into the position of co-ruler of Egypt with her younger brother, Ptolemy XIII, on the death of her father. She married her brother in accordance with Egyptian law. Three years later, through a move shrouded in devious treachery, she was driven into exile. At this time, she met Julius Caesar on his visit to Egypt. She formed an alliance with him and together their armies triumph. The two leaders fall in love and Caesar proclaims Cleopatra the Queen of Egypt. Forced by custom to marry her younger brother (Ptolemy XIV) on the death of Ptolemy XIII, Cleopatra then goes to Rome with Caesar where they live together and where she bears him a son. Within a year or two, Caesar is assassinated and Cleopatra returns to Egypt on hearing of the death of Ptolemy XIV. When in Egypt, she makes her son co-ruler in order to keep her ties with Rome. A civil war breaks out in Italy between the co-conspirators who killed Julius Caesar. Caesar's general, Marc Anthony, uses his skills as an orator to try to ease the tensions and eventually he, together with Octavian and one other, become rulers of the Roman Empire, with each man taking a separate area over which to rule. It is at this point that Anthony sends for Cleopatra. He summons her to his city in Turkey looking for an explanation of what is happening in Egypt. He falls in love with Cleopatra, completely captivated by her beauty and wisdom. He learns from her about the spiritual treasures and wisdom of Egypt and he searches for copies of the destroyed books and replaces the Great Library of Alexandria, which has been destroyed by this time. However, in order to maintain his position and alliances in Rome, Anthony is forced to marry into the Octavian family. Much to the disdain of Octavian, his wife's brother, Anthony continues to live and have children with Cleopatra. Octavian gathers an army and marches on Anthony and Cleopatra. During the Battle of Actium, the fleets of Anthony and Cleopatra become separated due to the different speeds of their ships. It is at this moment that Octavian takes his revenge. In a bold step of deceit he sends word to Anthony that Cleopatra has committed suicide. When he hears such devastating news, Anthony falls on his sword and dies. When she learns of this, it is not long after that Cleopatra takes her last breath. Cleopatra died at the age of 38. She had kept Egypt free in her lifetime, during her reign of 20 years as its Queen. To learn more about the Free Techniques mentioned in this lecture, please click here.
