Little and Big Ways to Directly Help AIDS Orphans
Handmade Zulu AIDS Baby Bead Badges, Necklace and Medallion

There is much that could be said about the handmade Zulu AIDS Baby Bead Badges but the message below says it all. Grant, one of our Endwebu volunteers, works with the AIDS Mothers who make the Baby Bead Badges, overheard a conversation between the mothers.

The women were talking and one of them said to the other as she finished the badges that ' ... at least she could feed her baby this month .'

“Wearable Spiritual Art”

Creating concentric circles by hand is notoriously difficult, but thanks to the beading skills of the Zulu Gogo's of Nhlangwini, we are proud to bring you the Large Ancient Knowledge Medallion.

The handmade Ancient Knowledge Medallion is a beaded representation of the sacred and ancient BaKaRe symbol. This wondrous gift to humanity was left to us by the first humans who were called the BaKaRe (the Children of Light).

The 10 White Circles of Life with a black dot in the middle were used by the BaKaRe to explain many ‘mysteries' of our Universe like, How did I get here?

Long ago, the information about our multi-dimensional Universe was known by the BaKaRe and while String Theory Physics may be the latest advance in today's scientific thought, the recent discovery of 12 dimensions is a “re-discovery” of lost BaKaRe knowledge.

The large Ancient Knowledge Medallion
can also be displayed as a beautiful Wall Hanging

  • Gogo's (Zulu for Grandmothers) weave tiny beads in intricate African designs to create the AIDS Baby Bead Badges, Necklace and Medallion in beads.

  •  Each AIDS Baby Bead Badge, Necklace and Medallion takes about 1 – 8 hour to complete in the traditional Zulu manner.

  •  The Zulu use beads to lovingly convey messages in color. White is for Purity, Red is for Love, Blue is for Loyalty and Gold is for the Sun.

In KwaZulu, the epicenter of the AIDS Pandemic 1 out of 20 people is an AIDS orphan. In places like rural Nhlangwini (located in western KwaZulu-Natal), Gogos are the only people left to care for many of the 440,000 AIDS orphans in KZN's 9 million person population.

Our group of Gogos in Nhlangwini, create the AIDS Baby Bead Badges, Necklace and Medallion in a special sacred room used for ceremonies and prayers, overlooking the Sacred Mountain of Endwebu.

AIDS Babies now has a group of Natural Energy Healers working full time in Nhlangwini giving the comfort of natural healing treatments to KZN's hundreds of thousand of AIDS orphans. AIDS Babies is the only non governmental organization helping AIDS orphans in western KZN.

Help is needed worldwide to assist KZN's 440,000 AIDS orphans, please email us at Volunteers@AIDSBabies.org to join our worldwide family of volunteers.

People in South Africa and around the world wear AIDS Baby Bead Badges
to raise public awareness and to support the 30 million people
who have become infected in the AIDS Pandemic.
